法国作曲家德彪西于二十世纪初创作了《二十四首前奏曲》(分为一、二两卷),是德彪西最具有代表性的印象主义作品,是印象主义的精华。《暮色中的声音与芳香》是第一卷中的第四首,源自于法国象征主义诗人波德莱尔(Baudelaire,1821-1867)的诗《黄昏的和谐》中的第三句“声音与馨香在暮霭中回荡着”。此曲短小精炼,音型化的旋律让它朦胧而变化多端,展现出“声音”与“芳香”在“暮色”结合的意象,这个正是印象主义音乐所要追求的“印象”。
Debussy, the French composer, created “Twenty-four Prelude” (Divided into one or two volumes) in the early twentieth century.
