在铸造生产中,往往对铁水保温覆盖剂不够重视。沿袭使用稻草灰作为铁水保温、集渣覆盖材料,稻草灰结构松散,粘结强度差,不易扒渣,不能起到有效挡渣作用,而且当将稻草灰放到铁水表面时,稻草灰会四处飞扬、污染作业环境、给操作工人健康带来了不利影响。通过上海市闸北区科技协会铸造分会的牵线,我厂已于1985年5月开始使用PCR珍珠岩铁水保温材料,其物理性能见表1,化学成份见表2。
