想象画教学是以培养想象能力为主要目的的一种绘画教学方式。想象画教学经常采用无命题自由想象和有命题想像两种形式。无命题自由想象是指以想象训练为目的,不一定表现特定主题的想象画教学。首先,这种教学方法通常以实物启发联想。以实物启发联想要求学生观察具体实物,把产生的联想表现出来,它与记忆画有相似之处但又有所不同。记忆画教学侧重于对具体形象、场景、情节的回忆,而以实物启发联想要广阔得多。它可以是学生产生的接近联想,可以是相似联想,也可以是对比联想。
