Since 1990, with the end of the cold war, the threat of a world-wide devastating war has drastically reduced. As a result, the demand for military products in various countries has gradually weakened, resulting in a sharp drop in the global military trade volume from the peak in the mid-1980s. In 1995, the volume of international arms trade declined at a rate of 11.2% per annum.
