Barney believes that sustainable competitive advantage stems from a company’s valuable, scarce, can not be completely imitated and irreplaceable resources and capabilities. These resources and capabilities can be viewed as a collection of tangible and intangible assets, including a company’s management skills, organizational processes and routines and the information and knowledge it controls. Since the introduction of this concept by Barney, the RBV has proliferated dramatically and controversially in strategic management and related disciplines, involving considerable theoretical development and empirical testing. In order to assess the development of RBV, we have taken a two-pronged approach. First, make a brief comment on the article on this issue over the past decade. Secondly, the impact of RBV on specific subject areas is analyzed. Including human resource management, economics, entrepreneurship, marketing.
