当我们说起中国时,究竟意味着什么?对个体而言,最真切的感受,莫过于文化江山。正因为孔子的叮咛、屈原的九死不悔、李白的神采飞扬、文天祥的浩然正气,让我们如痴如醉,那是我们共有的心灵家园。然而,过去的160年,在现代文明冲击下,这一切突然变得风雨飘摇。乡愁,是几代中国人共有的情愫,我们不仅渐渐丧失了物理上的故乡,也丧失了文化上的故乡。我们的生活与精神已挤满了西方内容,但我们并未因此感到幸福,我们内心的空洞反而在不断扩张。不能不惊叹于70多年前钱穆先生的奋斗,在一片嘲讽中,钱先生努力地拯救着对历史的亲切感与敬意。只有在我们备尝现代性的苦涩后,才会理解钱穆先生所坚持的保守主义的价值。故乡是不能重建的,只能返回。在今天,这也许就是重读钱穆的价值所在。为此,本刊专访了钱理群先生的弟子、学者赵寻。
