内燃、电力机车都采用插件将车体各部分的控制导线与电器、屏柜线路联结起来。这种接插件式联接方法,拆换电器迅速,查找故障方便,布线整齐具有很多优点。但是,由于接插件里往往汇集十几根至二十几根导线,在插头和插座里的焊线端头间的距离很近,受尘埃、潮湿等环境的影响,很容易产生漏电,短路等现象,造成机车的控制逻辑混乱,反向器烧损,牵引电机环火和轮对擦伤等,甚至控制导线起火,其后果往往是十分严重的。因此,必须选用一种可靠的办法,以确保机车电器插件密封,防止插件漏电、短路、及烧损现象产生。
