为了培养人们热爱大自然的情操,启发人们认识树木、热爱树木的自觉性和鼓舞全民植树的热情,我建议从1987年开始,在全省开展评选“省树”的活动。世界上许多国家已把一些经济价值较大的或具有观赏价值的树木尊为国树,倍加爱护。1983年《森林与人类》编辑部在全国开展了公开评选“国树”的活动。据1985年揭晓,得票最多的有两种树,其中松树占总票数的38%,银杏占27%,由中国林学会决定评选树种后,上报全国人大常委会决定。目前,全国有些兄弟省、市,如山东、山西、北京等地也相继开展了评选“省树”或“市花”的活动。我省西安市评选“市树”、
