Objective To explore the clinical value of medical failure mode and effect analysis (HFMEA) in the long-distance transport of critically ill patients. Methods From April 2016 to April 2017, 120 cases of critically ill patients with long-distance transit admitted to our hospital were selected for observation. Among them, 60 were treated with conventional transport method as control group, and the other 60 patients were analyzed by HFMEA method group. The mean transit time, patient satisfaction, incidence of transport accidents, rescue success rate, nurses’ awareness of the transit process and risk management related knowledge were recorded. Results The average transit time and the incidence of transport accidents in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). The satisfaction rate, rescue success rate and knowledge of nursing staff in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group, The difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion The risk of long-distance transfusions in critically ill patients is relatively high. The use of HFMEA can accurately assess the risk of transport, optimize transport procedures, shorten the transit time, reduce the incidence of adverse events and improve patient satisfaction, which is worth promoting.
