公典盘出土于山东仙人台周代邿国贵族墓地中的女性墓M5。本文通过对铭文的分析,认为“邿子姜首”应连读为女子名,其身份为姜姓女子名首嫁于邿国者、作器者公典之妻。此器为邿子姜首嫁到邿国时,公典为其所作。铭文中的“室家是保”反映了公典希望邿子姜首能管理夫家的家族事务,表明公典与邿子姜首的身份应分别为家族内的宗子与宗妇,铭文中的祈福语则表达了丈夫对妻子乃至以后共同生活的祝愿。公典盘的出土为研究周代女子的称名方式提供了新的资料,对于周代贵族妇女地位、两性关系及家族形态等问题的研究亦有重要意义。
