Anne Bronte’s “Tender for the Wildfield House” shows readers a panoramic view of alcohol abuse in Victorian men. The author uses vivid coding to show that “alcoholism” can have a serious impact on people’s physical and mental health. This article mainly analyzes the specific manifestations of male protagonist alcoholism in the works and explores the double impact of alcoholism on people’s physical and mental health so as to reveal the prevailing social morality and moral hazard. The author believes that the feminist temperament that confront with it is a good remedy for this chronic illness in the society. At the same time, it also shows that the elements of the new female novel have begun to emerge.
