高血糖素具有广泛的胃肠道作用。胃分泌反应高血糖素能降低人血浆胃蛋白酶原水平,给注高血糖素可使胃分泌素及其衍化物所引起的胃酸分泌明显下降。并可消除低血糖和饲食所诱发的胃酸分泌。在中枢系统中,高血糖素性高血糖可对抗胰岛素低血糖对迷走神经中枢的作用,在外周则可能抑制迷走神经性胃泌素的释放,并对胆碱能兴奋发生拮抗作用。高血糖对血中胃蛋白酶原和胃液中胃蛋白酶的分泌酶的抑制,与肠促胰泌素不同,前者对胃蛋白酶的分泌无激发作用。
