涿州市科协,于1990年由天津市引进“卫青”萝卜,并试种成功。“卫青”萝卜已成为天津的四大名菜之一,每年广销港澳、日本等地8000余吨,换取外汇400余万元。是我国外贸出口的名特产品。一般是当年10月下旬收获贮藏,翌年8月出口,每公斤萝卜可增值人民币8元左右。“卫青”萝卜细脆间隙小,组织细嫩,含水适口,含糖份高,鲜嫩多汁,甜而微辣,皮、肉颜色翠绿,外形艳丽整齐,耐贮藏,生食有“赛鸭梨”之美称,做汤清香适口,有顺气、消食、清热祛火功能。现已成为盛宴中不可少的鲜绿夺目佳品。种好“卫青”萝卜,达到出口质量要求,必须严格操作规范。具体栽种技术需掌握以下要点:
