[Objective] To investigate the changes of neurobehavioral function and the expression of metabotropic glutamate receptor I (mGluR1) in peripheral blood lymphocytes in aluminum electrolysers. [Methods] ①Thirty-five retiree workers from electrolysis workshop were selected as the contact group from Taiyuan Aluminum Plant. 32 retired workers from the aluminum plant without occupational exposure to aluminum were selected as the control group to inquire about the general status of the surveyed subjects. ②With the recommendation of World Health Organization The neurobehavioral test (NCTB) was used to test the neurobehavioral function of the two groups of workers; ③ The expression of mGluR1 protein in peripheral blood lymphocytes was detected by Western blot. [Results] (1) The general situation (age, sex, length of service, education, smoking, drinking and retirement years) in the contact group and the control group were in balance with no significant difference POMSA and POMSF scores were significantly higher than those in the control group (P <0.05); POMSC, POMSD, POMST and POMSV ) Did not change significantly (P> 0.05). The digital breadth (DSP) includes both DSPF and DSPB, DSY and PAC (P <0.05), SRT, SRTF, SRTS, SANN, SANP ), BVR (Benton visual reserve) and PA (P> 0.05), there was no significant difference between the two groups (P> 0.05), suggesting that electrolytic exposure to aluminum produced negative effects on the emotional state and neurological behavior of retired workers Western blot results showed that mGluR1 protein expression in contact group was higher than that in control group (P <0.01). [Conclusion] The neurobehavioral function of aluminum electrolytes was impaired and the expression of mGluR1 protein in lymphocytes was up-regulated.
