We studied the impact of boating and sailing on coastal fish stocks near the northwestern Baltic Sea in the Stockholm archipelago. This effect can be quantified by taking samples of the metamorphic juvenile fish in the coves adjacent to the following areas: (i) route of ferry for mid-size passenger ferry; (ii) berth of small rowing boat (mini-pier); Fish with plant-based foods are negatively affected by boating and sailing activities; fish that are not plant-based are positively affected by boating and sailing activities. When the number of dredging piers in Europe is high, the number of pups in the pike also increases significantly in the reference area. Despite the decreasing number of routes along the ferry route, it is not possible for the perch to determine a statistically significant pattern. Many nearshore fishes need to rely on submerged vegetation as a substrate for laying eggs and juveniles, as a structural sanctuary and as a foraging habitat. Our findings conclude that the impact of boating and sailing activities on the coverage and height of submerged vegetation will have a negative impact, especially on Chaetoceros and Ocimum vegetables, which may lead to changes in juvenile fish communities.
