明末,由于程朱理学的空疏和陆王心学末流的空谈,使中国传统儒家经世济道的根本精神失落。学子们为了追求个人的功名利禄,一心埋头苦读四书五经,不关心国家大事。有鉴于此,以顾宪成、高攀龙为首的东林党人在东林书院讲学时,提倡经世致用之学,主张读书与关心国家大事相结合,培育学人的民族气节和爱国精神。东林党人的经世之学具有显著的特点,对闽籍学人产生重要影响。
At the end of the Ming Dynasty, due to the sparseness of Cheng-Zhu Neo-Confucianism and the empty talk of King Lu’s psychology, the fundamental spirit of Chinese traditional Confucianism was not lost. Students in pursuit of personal fame and fortune, bent on studying four books, do not care about national affairs. In view of this, when Dong Lin College, led by Gu Xiancheng and Gao Panglong, gave a lecture in Donglin College, they advocated that the study of the world should be conducted with the principle of combining reading with the care of the nation and nurturing the national integrity and patriotism of the scholars. The Donglin Party’s study of the world has significant features that have an important impact on Fujian-based scholars.
