Rare earth elements belong to the first complex formation, easy to bond with oxygen atoms, so oxygen complexes are more studied, while nitrogen complexes are less studied. Studies on nitrogen and oxygen as the bonding atoms are more polyamine polycarboxylates, pyridine carboxylates and complexes of 8-hydroxyquinoline and other ligands with rare earth elements. Schiff base is also a chelating agent containing oxygen and nitrogen bonded atoms, rare earth complexes with less research since the 1960s have been reported in the literature. In salicylaldehyde and amines generated by the Schiff base and rare earth complexes, such as Yamada et al have synthesized rare earth elements and salicylaldehyde and a variety of amine shrinkage
