Local statistics show that more than two-thirds of female applicants for graduate-level art history in the University of Michigan are enrolled, as is the case for applicants. Over the past few decades, teachers have been mostly men, whether they come to Harvard University or Berkeley University. Now things have changed, and now the art history students at the University of Michigan have more female teachers, twice the number of male teachers, compared to two of the previous seven teachers. In the past, there were too few female senior teaching staff, causing a disproportionate proportion of them. However, nowadays, the large number of women constitutes another temporary anomaly. On the other hand, while there are only two Afro-American female teachers and one non-native male teacher in the art history, there is absolutely no racial prejudice. We remain committed to various studies of Asian art, even though there are no Asians or Asian American teachers in the department; neither Latin Americans nor Hispanics, Spanish or Portuguese speakers and Native American People, nor about their art research courses.
