陈凯歌拍的影片《孩子王》问世了,它是根据阿城有名的同名小说改编的。有人云,关于“孩子王”的影片虽不失为优秀之作,但与关于“孩子王”的小说相比,似有遗憾之处。字上之人物一走上银幕,不知怎的,总被光与影减弱了若干原小说中阿城独有的神韵。因此,陈氏画面上的“孩子王”不及阿城笔下的人物。“及”与“不及”的争辩,属于电影改编的学问,先前没琢磨好,现在也不懂,不好说。不过,“不及”的说法,在我的记忆中象是不绝于耳。看电影《阿Q正传》时有所闻,欣赏《骆驼祥子》、《子夜》时又常听人议论,《日出》观后,也在有关的文章中见到过“不及”的字样。似乎存在一种“规律”,凡名著改编的影片,都少有超过原著的可能。
