編輯同志: “人民教育”一九五五年四月号讀者來信欄發表的周宜同志的“新滬中学不該以錯誤态度对待青年学生”一文,基本精神是正確的。我們已進行了專門檢查: (一)在对待刘秋月的錯誤态度上,暴露了我們在思想認識上对如何教育青年問题是不明確的,具体表現在:(1)把易於接受新鲜事物,也易於受舊影响感染的青年学生,因其曾有过悔悟表示而实际未改的情况,就錯誤地把她与某些受舊社会坏影响很深的成年人等同起來了。如当她对自己錯誤表示願意改正的時候,不是熱情關怀,坚持耐心說服教育的方針,而認为她是在作假,採取不信任的态度。我們也曾分析过她的家庭出身、社会關係,但未能据此更有效地來对她進行教育,却把这些当做了“难以教育”的根据。顯然,怀着这种錯誤想法是不可能坚持正面耐心教育的方針的。(2)对於流氓和被流氓引誘而沾染了流氓習气的青年学生之間的界

However, these have been used as a basis for “difficult education”. Obviously, with this erroneous idea, it is impossible to adhere to the principle of positive patient education.
