“十五”期间,天津公路建养工作全社会总投资约197亿元,是“九五”期投资的1.56倍,公路总里程较“九五”期末增加1213公里,新增高速公路里程299公里,形成以“三条过境主通道、三条京津城际高速通道、九条中心城市放射线”为骨架的高速公路网;新增二级以上公路里程627公里。公路网密度由“九五”期末的79公里/百平方公里提高到91公里/百平方公里。公路在天津的综合运输体系中始终占据主导地位,2000年天津市5种运输方式中公路客、货运量所占份额为52%、70%,2005年分别为56%、71%。
