According to the report of American public radio station on June 7, 2012, at present many schools in the United States started to use computers to correct student essay in order to save labor costs. There are two main arguments that support the use of computers to modify essays. One is that they have low costs and the second is that they can be changed to be more correct. But many disagree with the second argument. Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Leith Perelman was skeptical of this. He used an essay evaluation software recently developed by the U.S. Education Examination Service Center to rewrite an article and found that 11 of the 12 marked errors were miscarriage of justice, and Computer software failed to interpret the punctuation mark he had intentionally placed.
