Many years of history teaching practice have deeply deepened my understanding of the need to “live” the disciplines of the historical “people and events of the past” in the study of history, to make history truly “use of the past for the past” and “for the use of the ocean”. It is necessary to require students not only to master the necessary historical materials, but also to use historical materialism and dialectical materialism to view history and have scientific and advanced “historical knowledge.” Otherwise, history teaching is just a matter for teachers to put the “dead events” that have come out of ancient paper piles into students’ minds. What is the benefit? To achieve the purpose of teaching “living” history, it is clear that the old history teaching method must be abandoned. “Heuristic” teaching can accomplish this mission. “Heuristic” can not only help students remember important historical figures and historical events, but more importantly, they can inspire students to learn from history, “taking history as a mirror”, and drawing lessons from historical materials to help us absorb our nutrition today.
