塔机回转机构一般由电动机、耦合器、制动器和行星齿轮减速机组成。近年来,行星齿轮减速器逐渐由原来的在使用时由用户加稀油润滑,改为出厂时加入专用润滑脂进行润滑,达到免维护水平,解除了用户加油的麻烦。同时也大大降低用户忘记加油或加油少造成的行星齿轮减速机早期故障和零部件损坏的几率。为了防止免维护减速器在运输、安装过程中渗漏油,且考虑到塔机回转机构为间歇式工作制,设计时去掉了稀油润滑时的通气塞。这样减速机在使用过程中产生的油脂热胀和空气热胀将会使其内部压力变大,不利于减速机输入及输出端的油封密封和减速器外壳各连接端面密封。
