In Taiwan, there has recently been a story related to idioms. The idiom “罄竹难书” is a derogatory term. It means that there are too many indefinite crimes to write. Taiwan’s Chen Shui-bian, who had been perturbed by the “collapse of the flat movement” that has been surging in Taiwan, volunteered to the beach to pick up rubbish. Before leaving, the speech: The contribution of Taiwan volunteers to the society is really a “difficult to read!” The story of Chen Shui-bian using the wrong idiom immediately became a laughing stock. The people of Taiwan stated that Chen Shui-bian’s “corruption” against Taiwan since he took office in 2000 is “a difficult book.”
