Objective To investigate the relationship between the diameter of arterial sheath and postoperative compression time and the incidence of hematoma at the puncture point after vascular intervention. Methods Totally 160 patients undergoing femoral artery puncture were selected as study subjects. Patients were randomly divided into A, B, C and D groups, 40 in each. Group A was punctured with 5F puncture needle and pressured 2 h postoperatively. Group B was punctured with 5F puncture needle and operated for 6 h postoperatively. Group C was punctured with 6F puncture needle for 2 h after operation. Group D received 6F Puncture needle puncture, postoperative oppression 6 h. Results The incidence of postoperative hematoma in group A and group B was lower than that in group C and group D (P <0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of hematoma between group A and group B and between group C and group D (P> 0.05). There was no significant difference in postoperative complications between the four groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Reducing the intra-arterial sheath diameter can effectively reduce the incidence of hematoma at the puncture point and reduce the postoperative compression time without increasing the incidence of hematoma at the puncture site.
