清代,白银是主要货币之一,清政府的收入、支出、储备绝大部分使用白银。由于我国白银流通历代相沿,都由民间自由熔铸银锭,不像铜钱熔铸由国家统一管理,各地银锭形式、成色、平砝颇有差异,造成了许多复杂问题。而白银流通中的混乱情况,既使官吏役胥有机可趁,苛剥百姓,也给清政府严密财政制度带来一些困难。本专题史料选自
In the Qing Dynasty, silver was one of the major currencies. The vast majority of the Qing government’s revenues, expenditures and reserves used silver. Due to the phase flow of silver in our country, the silver ingots are all freely melted by the people. Unlike copper coin casting, which is controlled by the state, there are quite a few differences between the form and quality of silver ingots in various places, resulting in many complicated problems.
