我校的工程地质学科建设步入了以博士、硕士研究生培养为重点的新阶段,科研工作为之做出了历史性贡献.在过去的 20 年中,先后完成了国家自然科学基金、科技攻关、开放实验室基金、地方政府和有关部门、单位委托课题 40 多项,不但解决了国家、地方经济建设中的实际工程问题,而且取得了一系列的研究成果.在丰富和发展工程地质理论上的主要贡献有:断裂构造与断层岩工程地质评价、黄河上游水利水电与环境工程地质、松动岩体工程地质研究、金川矿山工程地质与岩体力学、黄土利用等方面.1988~1998 年间有 6 项成果获得了省部级科技进步奖
