If urinary albumin excretion rate of 20μg / min or more (microalbuminuria), can be used as an indicator of poor prognosis of diabetes. When other risk factors such as men, age, obesity, ischemic heart disease, high blood pressure, smoking and elevated blood lipids are also considered, the albumin excretion rate is still linked to the risk of death. In nondiabetic people, microalbuminuria is also associated with increased blood pressure and increased cardiovascular mortality. To this end, the authors studied the relationship between urinary albumin excretion and the risk of death in the elderly. Subjects and Methods The study population was 216 senile people aged 60-74 years. Urinary albumin excretion rate was measured and followed up for 62-83 months. The subjects of this study were the Danish city of Fredericia to the entire population
