As early as the advent of agriculture, mankind obtained food by harvesting cereals, fruits, and hunting wild animals. Today, most of our food comes from farms and livestock farms, but the capture of marine fish continues to this day. Modern fishing boats can be said to be highly mechanized fishing factories. Sadly, however, the achievements of the fishing industry have foreshadowed the eventual conclusion of marine fisheries because fish escaped from fishing nets far outpace the rate of human killings. In the near future, the number of fish that can be harvested in the oceans will be extremely scarce. Even the most effective fishing vessels can only be exasperated in the ocean and come back without success.
