普通渐开线少齿差行星传动以其结构紧凑、体积小、重量轻、传动比范围大、同轴线传动等优点在各个工业部门获得了广泛的应用。而摆线针轮传动和谐波传动(又名柔轮传动),则又以其同时啮合齿数较多,承载能力较高所见长。渐开线柔齿少齿差行星传动(以下简称柔齿传动)就在一定程度上概括了上述三种传动的优点,既可以保证有较大的重合度,又秉承了渐开线齿轮的良好工艺性。因此,这是一种有发展前途的新型传动形式。
