前面介绍了光盘生产的每个环节,本部分着重介绍CD-R 生产工艺,对于可记录光盘最关注的因素就是:染料和沟槽。生产CD-R光盘,似乎不过如此:购买染料,将染料涂在聚碳酸脂基片上,并使其干燥,溅镀金属反射层,涂保护胶, 印刷和包装。然后就等待利润的净增。大体上说,这就是CD- R生产工艺步骤,但实际上这些工艺中引入了许多新的因素。首先,需要一个压模来模压CD-R基片。因为需要制作空白盘片,而不是预录信息盘片,所以CD-R压模上不能像CD 压模那样含有一系列的凸起(模压在盘片上形成坑点)。在压模上具有螺旋槽和螺旋凸起,螺旋凸起经过模压工艺就形成了基片上的螺旋槽。

The production of CD-R discs seems to go much further: buy dyes, apply dyes to polycarbonate substrates, dry them, sputter metal reflective layers, apply protective glue, print and package. Then wait for a net increase in profits. In general, this is the CD-R production process step, but in fact many new factors have been introduced into these processes. First, a stamper is needed to mold the CD-R substrate. Because of the need to make a blank disc instead of a pre-recorded disc, the CD-R mold can not contain a series of protrusions (molded to form pits on the disc) like the CD molds. The stamper has a spiral groove and a spiral protrusion, and the spiral protrusion forms a spiral groove on the substrate after the stamping process.
