On July 12, 2006, Fang Chaoigui, director of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Labor and Social Security, was entrusted by the provincial government to inform the media and the society about the adjustment of the minimum wage in Guangdong. The general overview is as follows: Guangdong's historical background of adjusting the minimum wage was established in 1994 in Guangdong Province Wage security system, has adjusted the minimum wage seven times. Since the implementation of the minimum wage guarantee system in Guangdong Province, most enterprises have been able to carry out their duties in accordance with the law and have played a positive role in safeguarding the basic rights and interests of workers. However, there are also some violations of the minimum wage: some companies pay wages below the minimum wage; overtime and boarding fees are part of the minimum wage; mining
