光与物质性是一对关系非常特殊而有趣的概念。人们对物质性的感知,视觉占据首要的位置,特别是在传媒信息异常发达的当代。光是人们视觉感知的基础,同时构成了视觉上的物质性。然而,光既可以构建视觉上的物质性,同时也可以诋毁这种物质性,无论是过强或过弱的光线都会减损这种物质性在视觉上的存在感。这使得光线成为一种十分敏感而又难以控制的因素。间舍—私人美术馆—作为这个项目的功能预设,将崛起于一片由粗糙的临时建筑和农田混乱形成的城乡结合处之中。显然这里是一片典型的中国城市化快速发展进程中的乡村场景。为了寻求速度,各种务实的、临时性的举措随处可见:人们在临时堆垒而成的土丘上种植玉米或其他作物;临时开挖的明沟代替被建筑废料倾倒掩埋了的原本自然形成的冲沟;在田野间随意架设的水泥电线杆;
Light and materiality are a pair of very special and interesting concepts.
