Lefebvre is not only the founder of Western Marxism but also the unconscious promoter of so-called “post-Marxist philosophical thoughts” since the 1970s. One of its main manifestations is his concept of a cultural revolution based on the everyday life of a modern city as proposed in “Daily Life in the Modern World.” In his opinion, Marxist philosophy is basically an “outdated” industrialist and productionist discourse. The macro-conception of Marx’s economic, political and cultural revolution is still a rational design category. But the problem is that Lefebvre’s overall ideal of cultural revolution is not an economic foundation.
