杂交玉米的优良农艺性状取决于自交系杂交所产生的杂交优势,其自交系在遗传上有所不同,但又具有良好的配合能力(Spragug,1977)。优良的杂交种源于育种家选育的优良的自交系,在玉米杂交种子生产中,把在育种过程中所获得的优良生产性能遗传下去,保持自交系的遗传整合性是至关重要的(Pussell,1974;Duvick,1977;Meghji,Dudley,Lambert和Sprague,1984)。适当的田间隔离条件和原原种种子的纯度,对成功地繁殖玉米自交系的基础种子是关键性的举措。无论来自邻近田里或者本自交系内非正常型植株的异花粉沾染都可能造成种子批的不纯或者分离,都不宜用于生产杂交种子。杂交种子生产者要经常在田间生长
The excellent agronomic traits of hybrid maize depend on the hybridization advantages derived from the inbred line hybrids, which are genetically different but of good suitability (Spragug, 1977). Good hybrids originate from elite inbred lines breeded by breeders. It is crucial to maintain good inbred lines’ genetic integrity by inheriting the excellent performance obtained during breeding in the production of maize hybrid seeds (Pussell, 1974; Duvick, 1977; Meghji, Dudley, Lambert and Sprague, 1984). Appropriate field isolation conditions and the purity of the original seed are key measures for successful breeding of the basic seed of the maize inbred line. It is not suitable for the production of hybrid seeds whether impure pollination or separation of seed lots may result from heterologous pollination of non-normal plants from adjacent fields or from inbred lines. Hybrid seed producers often grow in the field
