Objective: To investigate chewing gum on the impact of attention. Methods: Based on gender, idiosyncratic anxiety, habit of chewing gum (H / L), and whether chewing sugar (G / C) was used during the experiment, 181 healthy college students were divided into two groups according to their design: Chewing sugar and having habit (GH), experimenting with sugar but not habit (GL), controlling chewing sugar but having habit (CH), and controlling chewing sugar and no habit (CL) in the laboratory Continuous Operational Trials (CPT-AX) and Matched Search Tasks (CST) tests were conducted to assess continuous attention and selective attention. Results: In addition to the positive effects of chewing chewing gum on the test scores in the experiment, the chewing gum experience showed even more significant impact on grades. Conclusions: Chewing gum has a positive effect on attentiveness, and the familiarity with chewing gum plays an important role in this positive effect.
