《第五个孩子》和《浮世畸零人》是多丽丝·莱辛创作的二部具有明显后现代消费社会特征的小说,体现了深刻的“家”的寓意。这二部小说是姊妹篇,小说篇名合在一起就是:第五个孩子班,流落世间。莱辛展示给读者的是一个充满暴力犯罪和人性缺失的世界,实则在省思:家园何在?何谓家人?回家的路在何方?等系列问题。后现代消费社会家庭核心价值观念崩塌之后,人类比以往任何时候都渴望找到那条充满爱与人性的回家之路。
“The Fifth Child” and “Unfair World of Zero” are two novels characterized by the obvious postmodern consumer society created by Doris Lessing, which embody the profound implication of “home”. The two novels are companion articles, fiction title is together: the fifth child class, the world. Lessing show to readers is a world full of violent crimes and humanity, but in fact think: what is home? What family? Where is the way home? And other series of questions. After the collapse of the core values of the family in the post-modern consumer society, human beings are ever more eager to find the loving and humane way back home than ever before.
