郁南县位于广东省西部,西江中游南岸,与广西苍梧县交界,是“中国无核黄皮之乡”和广东省重点用材林基地县。全县土地总面积19.67万公顷,其中山地面积15.27万公顷,有“八分山地一分田,半分河道半分村”之称。目前,全县林业用地面积13.1万公顷,绿化栽植率95.4％,绿化率95％,森林覆盖率67.7％,活立木总蓄积量443万立方米,林木年生长量1 8万立方米,活立木蓄积年净增量1 2万立方米。
