People often associate traditional peasants with beautiful native traditions of “benevolence, righteousness, reason, wisdom and faith”. As the process of reform and opening up, a large number of peasants migrate to cities and become migrant workers. Migrant workers are considered to have discarded their beautiful local traditions and are labeled as “small-farmer conscious”, “rude”, “unsmiling hands and feet”, “ Stigma ”. This paper argues that migrant workers are marginalized in urban areas, lack of social support networks and struggling at the bottom of the city. The peasants’ beautiful tradition has no place in the city.
