After the fall of trees in the north, except for a few coniferous evergreen trees, the leaves will turn yellow. As long as the wind blows, it will fall; the yellowing and falling of the leaves will be a kind of winter for the trees. ready. Why does the leaves turn yellow? Because before leaves fall, the nutrients contained in the leaves have been decomposed and transported to the branches for storage, and the leaves lose their inherent green color. After the fall, the soil temperature gradually decreases, and it is becoming more and more difficult for the roots of trees to absorb water from the soil. To reduce the loss of water, the fall of leaves is actually a protection adaptation. The growth of trees to the height is carried out by the top of the branches, and the growing part is also the youngest part of the tree. In the winter, growth stops, and the top of this growth is protected by newly formed young leaves, which we call the bud. By the spring of the second year, after the buds have opened, the top will continue to grow into new leaves, and the branches will be lengthened.
