This article summarizes the results of the determination of serum zinc and copper in 20 cases of congenital hypothyroidism (hypothyroidism) before and after treatment. A low zinc and copper disorders in children with significant metabolic disorders. Pretreatment 14/20 (70%) children with serum zinc decreased, although the increase after treatment, but still 6 cases did not return to normal. Serum copper treatment before 9/20 (45.0%) is reduced, 4 to 6 months after treatment, 4 cases have not reached the normal level. A hypothyroidism in children with zinc and copper may be due to many reasons, loss of appetite, malabsorption, accelerated metabolism, growth and development and edema fluid excretion, zinc, copper loss, are possible factors. The observation suggests that hypothyroidism should pay attention to the supplementation of trace elements.
