采用铝合金基复合材料(A1-MMC)制造的圆盘,其重量只有65kg,而球铁盘则为115kg。碳化硅颗粒增强铝基复合材料(SiC-PMMC)具有重量轻和性能优良的特点,因而适用于高速铁道车辆轴装式制动圆盘的制造。文中介绍了SiC-PMMC的优缺点和三种不同的制造工艺(浸渗工艺、双金属铸造工艺和多重浇注工艺),列出了原型制动盘摩擦环与其制动问片的磨耗比。此外,文章还指出,这种复合材料可节省制动盘52%的材料费,并可改善其机械加工性能。
Discs made of aluminum-alloy matrix composites (A1-MMC) weigh only 65kg and the ball-iron discs weigh 115kg. Silicon Carbide Particle Reinforced Aluminum Matrix Composites (SiC-PMMC) are light weight and excellent in performance, making them suitable for the manufacture of axle-mounted brake discs for high-speed railroad vehicles. In this paper, the advantages and disadvantages of SiC-PMMC and three different manufacturing processes (impregnation process, bimetal casting process and multi-casting process) are introduced. The wear ratio of the friction ring of the prototype brake disc and its brake pad is also listed. In addition, the article also pointed out that this composite material can save 52% of the brake disc material costs, and can improve its machinability.
