德国文学家歌德不仅是一位杰出的作家,同时也是一位出色的翻译家。在1827年从英文转译《百美新咏》期间,歌德还率先提出了“世界文学”的理念。本文以歌德从英文转译的《开元》为重点,对中、英、德三种文本进行对比研究。文中特别指出,歌德通过文学翻译为德国文学汲取了丰富的养料。而对中国古代“才女”作品的译介在19世纪对欧洲文学界正确评价女性诗人和女性文学都产生了积极影响。
German writer Goethe is not only an outstanding writer, but also an excellent translator. Goethe also pioneered the concept of “world literature” during the translation of “One Hundred New Chants” from English in 1827. This paper focuses on the “Kaiyuan” which is translated from English by Goethe, and compares the three texts of China, Britain and Germany. In particular, the article points out that Goethe learned a great deal of nourishment for German literature through literary translation. In the 19th century, however, the translation and introduction of the works of ancient Chinese “Talented Women” had a positive impact on the correct evaluation of the female poet and the female literature in European literary circles.
