为了促进控制冷却技术在轧钢生产过程中的应用,发展及提高我国控冷技术的研究与生产水平,推动各类老式轧机的技术改造,已在北京钢铁学院建成了采用微型计算机控制的棒材控制冷却模拟实验室。 该实验室所采用的微型机控制系统、数学模型,在技术上具有国内外先进水平。有高档微型机及完整的软件用于研制控冷过程的数学模型。有微型计算机控制的在线模拟机组,可以对板材、棒材、及线材的控制冷却过程进行在线模拟实验。
