Research on Integrating Modern Educational Technology into High School English Teaching

  【Abstract】The deep integration of the multi-media technology and English teaching is beneficial to create a illustrated,lively and vivid teaching situation. Aiming at this, firstly analyzes the problems existed in the traditional high school English teaching of China, and how to apply the modern education technology means to make the teachers adapt to the new teaching mode.

  I. The problems existed in the traditional high school English teaching in China
  1. The teachers are in the central position in the classroom and give “cramming education” while the students listen to the teachers silently, therefore, the information is in a unidirectional transmission between the teachers and the students.
  2. The teaching contents focus on explanation of vocabulary, grammatical analysis and text translation, pay attention to reading and writing while neglect the language skill training in listening and speaking.
  3. The teaching method and means are backward,the “teacher blackboard chalk” teaching mode makes the students lack of the language environment without any other information sources for assistance.
  II. The advantages of the modern education technology in English teaching
  In China, English is the second language for students to learn, in spite of the classroom teaching time, the students have few chances to practice. Therefore, establishing a scene in life for the students in classroom and making them learn in the scene is very important.The multimedia technology establishes the teaching situation of harmonious emotions and scenes through various modes such as picture, video and audio. The students can feel the language in the simulated life scene and conduct situational language practicing again and again, which can force the students to change from voluntary attention to involuntary attention, thus to make learning process relaxed. The environment provided by multimedia can not only create active classroom atmosphere but also increase the learning enthusiasm of the students, in addition, it can effectively remedy the insufficient teaching capability of the teachers and achieve many things at one stroke.   III. The application forms of the modern information technology in the high school English teaching
  1. Depending on the recording media to conduct hearing-based crossword training on the students. Depending on the audiotape to conduct the training is easy to be performed. We just need to adjust the quizzes unsuitable to listening test in the existing materials for use. For example, select a short text, make the students listen with aims, this method of guessing the text below based on the above text is good listening training form combining listening with comprehensive capability.
  2. Depending on the media such as film and television,video and video disk to conduct extensive listening training. The above media are intuitive and vivid with lifelike scene and good audiovisual effect, which can make the students have a deep understanding on the English exchange habits and better comprehend the meanings of the listening materials,cultivate their oral communication capability, through the training depending on the materials, the learning enthusiasm of the students is enhanced and the teaching effect is good.
  3. Depending on the network to cultivate the self-learning capability. In the classroom, the teachers and students make communications in the multimedia computer, self-learning will become the main mode for the students to learn in the future, while the teachers will really become the guider and server of the students. The students and teachers can roam through the best library, museum,science and technology museum as well as science and technology materials management museum in the world through the international internet, refer to the materials and listen to the lessons of the best teacher in the world.
  IV. Conclusion
  In summary,depending on multiple modern teaching media to conduct middle school English teaching is necessary in the new education trend and is the requirements of the English teaching rules, applying the multiple modern teaching media can make the students learn actively and happily, input new vitality into English classroom thus to make the English classroom present boundless vitality and splendidness.
