出版业要自我生存,发展,必须要注重经济效益。但首先应对经济效益有一个正确的认识。有人认为精神产品的生产部门强调经济效益,必然会走偏方向。这种观点未免太绝对了,只看到经济效益与社会效益相矛盾的一面,没有看到二者相统一的一面。还有人认为,强调经济效益影响出版物文化积累的神圣使命,影响学术著作的出版。持此观点者似也缺乏辩证的眼光。文化积累有两种,一种是人为的积累,一种是自然的积累。前者是出版工作者有意识地出版有历史保存价值的东西,而后者是历史自身从人们喜闻乐见的出版物中大浪淘沙,将有保存价值的东西一代一代自然传下去。获得良好的经济效益,并不见得没有文化积累价值。还有一种观点认为,图书出版工作重社会效益,抓经济效益会降低图书质量。其实,不讲经济效益,并不一定使图书质量得到提高;同时,也决不会因为不讲经济效益就能杜绝平庸和不良读物的出版。
Publishing industry to self-survival and development, we must focus on economic efficiency. But first of all, we should have a correct understanding of economic benefits. Some people think that the production of spiritual products, emphasizing economic efficiency, is bound to go the wrong direction. This point of view is far from absolute. We only see the contradictory aspect between economic benefits and social benefits and do not see the unification of the two sides. Others argue that emphasizing the sacred mission of economic benefits affecting the accumulation of publications culture affects the publication of academic works. Those who hold this view also seem to lack of dialectical vision. There are two kinds of cultural accumulation, one is the accumulation of man-made, one is the accumulation of nature. The former is that publishers deliberately publish something of historical preservation value, which is the ebb and flow of the history itself, which is loved by the people, and passed on from generation to generation with preserved values. Get good economic benefits, not necessarily without cultural accumulation value. There is also a view that the book publishing heavy social benefits, pay attention to economic efficiency will reduce the quality of books. In fact, ignoring the economic benefits does not necessarily result in the improvement of the quality of books. At the same time, we can never stop the publication of mediocre and unhealthy reading materials without speaking of economic benefits.
