Objective: To investigate the effect and pros and cons of using implantable venous transfusion port (VAP) and peripheral venous catheterization (PICC) in patients with tumor chemotherapy. Methods: 100 patients with chemotherapy in our hospital were selected, including 50 patients in the VAP group and 50 patients in the PICC group. Two sets of one-time catheterization success rate, indwelling time, the incidence of catheter-related complications and quality of life scores were calculated. Results: The duration of indwelling, the incidence of catheter-related complications and the quality of life in VAP group were better than those in PICC group (P <0.05). Conclusion: Among patients with malignant tumor chemotherapy, VAP has the advantages of convenient use, long time of stay, less complications and high quality of life. It is an ideal route for intravenous chemotherapy and should be popularized and applied.
