“一般过去时”的烦恼
Hello, everyone!认识我吗？我是“一般过去时”，我有许多烦恼要向你们倾诉。原本我很快乐，可自从遇到你们中的某些粗心的同学，真叫我有口难言。在此，借《中学生英语》杂志，我想说说我的烦恼，希望能引起同学们的注意，让快乐重新回到我身边。
一、忽略时间状语。
有些同学在使用英语时，不管时间状语是什么，总是喜欢使用“一般现在时”，根本不把“我”放在眼里，经常把“我”忘得一干二净，本该使用“我”的场合也把“一般现在时”搬了出来。例如：
昨天他不在家。
【误】 He is not at home yesterday.
【正】 He was not at home yesterday.
去年他们住在上海。
【误】 They live in Shanghai last year.
【正】 They lived in Shanghai last year.
【析】由句中yesterday, last year这两个时间状语可知，这两句该用一般过去时。我现在再次郑重地声明：表示在过去某一时间发生的动作或存在的状态要用一般过去时，即：当句中含有yesterday, yesterday morning/afternoon/evening, last night/year/week/month, a week ago, two days ago, just now等时间状语时，挺身而出的一定是“我”。
二、滥用was和were。
只是在含有was或were的句子，变一般疑问句时，才把was或were提到句首，其它情况下则用did来帮助完成。例如：
你喜欢那个展出吗？
【误】 Were you enjoy the show?
【正】 Did you enjoy the show?
他们步行去动物园的吗？
【误】 Were they walk to the zoo?
【正】 Did they walk to the zoo?
三、行为动词不还原。
在含有行为动词的一般过去时的肯定句中，行为动词要用过去式。可是在一般疑问句或否定句中，由于句中加了助动词did,句中的行为动词要改为原形。好多粗心的同学总是把这一点给忘了，真令我哭笑不得。例如：
【误】 Did you had lunch at school yesterday?
【正】 Did you have lunch at school yesterday?
四、错拼行为动词的过去式。
有些同学没有掌握好行为动词过去式的构成规则，在运用时经常出现过去式拼写错误的现象，真让人头痛。例如：
【误】 Who carryed the big box?
【正】 Who carried the big box?
[析] 以“辅音字母 y”结尾的动词变过去式时，要先把y改为i再加ed。
【误】 A policeman stoped the car.
【正】 A policeman stopped the car.
【析】 末尾只有一个辅音字母的重读闭音节词，变过去式时，应先双写这个辅音字母，再加ed。
【误】 She writed a letter to her friend yesterday.
【正】 She wrote a letter to her friend yesterday.
【析】 write的过去式是wrote，属不规则变化，切不可想当然直接在其后加d。
