观赏南瓜属葫芦科植物,是一年生藤蔓瓜果,品种繁多,瓜的形状和颜色也不相同。笔者盆栽的两个品种,一个成熟后表皮呈豆绿色,并有银霜;另一个表皮为鲜艳、光洁的桔红色。形状均为扁圆形,亦称磨盘南瓜。瓜身有纵沟,瓜皮光洁,瓜形好看。 1.选择品种:家庭盆栽以体形小巧玲珑、果色艳丽、叶小蔓短、瓜期长的品种为好。 2.播种育苗:家庭种植数量少,可用体温催芽。于春分前后选择颗粒饱满的瓜子,放于30℃～40℃的温开水中浸泡4～6小时,捞出用湿纱布包好,再裹上塑膜,放于贴身口袋内,用人的体温催芽,约1周便可催出芽
